Build Your Own Lab

Our WASTED Laboratory is in Amsterdam Noord. Where will yours be?

WASTED aims to benefit the neighborhood through localized plastic waste re/upcycling. We hope WASTED can achieve the same goals in more neighborhoods around the world. To help other communities get WASTED, we developed open source documents that share details of our Block, machine and process designs for all to access, use and build on.

Open Source Report

August 2015 we published our most up-to-date Open Source Report, spotlighting how the WASTED Designers turned ideas into reality. Within the report, you'll find details on the design of the WASTED Block, the self-made machines used to make it, and the process for using these machines to create a Block.

Design Club Open Source Report

January 2015 we hosted an intensive Design Club that generated initial Block, machine and process design. The Open Source Report above worked from the ideas, blueprints, drawings and computer assisted designs generated during the Design Club.

Design is a continuous process. Do you have ideas, feedback or anything else to say? Interested in working with us in a future Design Club aimed at advancing and expanding presented designs? Contact us.

Want to build your own lab?

We’re open to discussing how we can help you develop a WASTED Lab in your city, as we strongly support activating neighborhoods wherever there is plastic addiction, wherever plastic is or is becoming an environmental problem (where isn’t it?), and wherever the local community needs a little “push” to start understanding and generating the beneficial effects of comprehensive local upcycling schemes.
